Sharp Drops
NEW YORK. June 2 ( The
stock market dropped fractions to
around two points today before find
ing a bottom.
Steel, rail, and television and radio
stocks were among the weakest but
other groups were also well repre
sented In the minus column.
The price slide was accompanied
by only a modest pick-up in bus
iest. Turnover amounted to around
00.000 shares for the full session,
which would compare with 870.000
yesterday.
The market pointed downward at
the (tart and followed In that direc
tion until past mid-day before
leveling off. A timid effort at a
comeback met with only scant suc
cess. Failure of an early rise yesterday
to follow through was mentioned as
a discouraging factor.
