A new customer drew me aside the oil-cr day.
"Look," he said, "I'm a graduate engineer
but the door on the glove compartment won't
stay closed and the thing's got me stumped.
My wife's torn a dress on it already."
I've fixed dozens of glove
compartment doors. Usually
it's the catch that needs resetting. All the job requires is a small
screwdriver and a little know-how. This catch was no different
from the others, and after I'd reset it, the door worked perfectly.
"You're a genius," the mnn anid. "Now what
can you do about all those squeaks?"
"In one word," I said. "Shcllubrication."
"Please," he said. "As soon as possible." '
"Right," I told him. "Service is my business."
