The monthly meeting of the
Klamath Falls Nile club was held at
the Winema hotel Wednesday after
noon, June 2. Tables were attrac
tively decorated with arrangements
of Iris, tulips, daphne and bridal
wreath.
Margo Lungreen gave two clever
readings, "The Operation" and an
excerpt from "Excursion."
Members whose birthday annivers
aries are In June were presented
with white roses. The birthday
prize was received by Mrs. Fred
Hellbronner. Mrs. Leo N. Huls re
ceived the special award.
Bridge was played after the bus
iness meeting, and high went to
Mrs. O. A. Massey. The meeting
was the last gathering for the cluo
until September.

to four decisions first to work for
United States policies directed
toward an enduring peace supported
by a strong United Nations and
made possible by a sound domestic
and world economy. Second, to sup
port promotion of International re
construction, and extension of world
trade. Third, to analyze federal
taxes and expenditures to under
stand and support such fiscal
policies as make for a stable do
mestic economy. Fourth, to support
action on admission of displaced
persons, federal aid to education,
home rule for the District of Co
lumbia, civilian control of atomic
energy, repeal of the margarine
tax. the "status of women" bill,
"equal pay for equal work'' bill. Jury
service for women and "alien hus
bands" bill.
Short reports were heard from i
two of the delegates to the state
convention, Mrs. C. E. Dennis and
Mrs. A. A. Montgomery. Mrs. John
Yadon, local president, who also at
tended the state convention, advised
that the Klamath County league
will make a study of the proposed
severance tax In line with the
League's forest conservation study
program. Mrs. Willard Duncan,
radio chairman, reported on ths
activity of that oommlttee during
the recent registration campaign
and commended both radio station?
for their cooperation.
