Quite a feV patties were Riven this past week and weddings as
usual are holding the spotlight for the next month or two. Last night's
big party was the Junior-Senior prom at KUHS with 8acred Heart
academy prom at the Wtllard last Thursday night. Both were gala
attaint and parly dresses were gay and awlshy.
Greetings to and from Klamath Falls were exchanged at the wed
ding May 15 of Vera Thompson and Dewey Powell in San Francisco.
Among 'ine going south for the nuptials were Mr. and Mm. Franklin
L. Weaver who were Joined by their son. Clark, of Stockton, Mrs. Rose
M. Poole and Mrs. Prentice Yeomans, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hellbronner.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl Schubert, Mr. and Mm. Vincent Lawler. Mr. and
Mrs. Newton Nelson, and A- B. Collins, and former residents Included
Ruth Dixon. Gertrude Teague and her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and
Mrs. I.cwls Lercara and daughter Lynn, all of San Francisco. Mr. and
Mra. Rex McMillan of Dunsmuir. and Lee Stoner of the Bay city who
has many friends here.
Before returning home Friday morning, Mra. Poole and Ellenor
visited with Mra. Wilfred E. Lamm and daughter Winifred at Los Altos.
Winifred is nl Stanford studying music and ooth plan to come home
to Modoc Point and open their home there later In the spring.

Everybody had a wonderful time at Rosie Suty's wedding. The
church war beautifully decorated with pink and white snapdragons and
palms, and the attendants, from the pretty flower girl to the maid of
honor, wore a deleuable shade of blue. Even the pelting shower out
side didn't dampen the gaiety. For something old and borrowed. Rosie
wore her sister Mildred's iMrs. Stephen Takacs) wedding veil, the
something new was the lovely satin gown and there were the traditional
blue garters.
It s another boy boy for Mr. and Mra. Jack Llndh who are cele
brating the arrivul of Gregory on Mny 16 at Springfield Gardens, Long
Island. New York. Jack Is still flying for Pan-American on the trans
Atlantic lun and there are few ports whet Jack has not been. Airports,
that is.
THOROUGHLY ENJOYING her first visit to the United Stales is Mrs. Alfred Wilson of
Auckland, Now Zealand Mrs. Wilson, right, has been a houseguest of her sister, Mrs.
Thomas Soncloe, at the latter's home on Painter street, for several weeks. She will leave
May 28 for points in Canada to visit other relatives, returning here again in July before
her return flight home, Numerous informal gatherings have honored her. i

she hnd won in such heavy competition. There were eight young pianists

I.lnd and Jean Hoffman. The winner plays the Grieg piano concerto
In Portland next fall.
