Mrs. Jacob Heid is the mother of Mrs. Carleton Horni
brook, 819 Pacific Terrace. Mrs. Noncy Jane Osborn
is the mother of Dr. Dean H. Osborn of 2104 Lawrence
street. Mrs, N. H. Bogue of Pacific Terrace is shown
here with her gronddoughter, Nancy, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. George H. Clark, 2021 Lavy, and Mrs Sydney
Evans, well-known Klamath matron, is also pictured with

Early May Bride
An attractive bride of early May was Louise Henry, daughter of
Mr. and Mm. Mrlvin D. Henry of this elty, who exchanged vows with
Jack Rcbbins, son of Mr. and Mra. J. H. Robbins, also of Klamath
Falls.
St. Paul's Episcopal church was the scene of the pretty spring
nuptials, and the Rev. Frederick C. Wissenbach read the single ring
vows at 3 o'clock. Sunday, May 3.
Bouquets of while stock and white carnations, palms, and tapers
in tall cnndelabra were arranged at the altar.

Louise entered the church on the
arm of her father as Mrs. O'Connor
played Ihe traditional processional.
Her gow n was of heavy white satin
fashioned with a high neckline and
net yoke trimmed In tiny seed pearls.
The skirt was soflly draped at the
wulst. falling Into a short train.
Long, fitted sleeves were pointed
at the wrist. Her only jewelry was
single strand of pearls.
Louise wore a long veil of illu
sion net held In place with a seed
pearl tlarn. A traditional arm
bouquet of rain lilies and white car
nations was tied with a wide white
satin bow.
Maid of honor was Donna Willis.
who was gowned In a pink net
frock with n sweetheart neckline.

Mrs. Henry, mother of the bride,

Ted Reeves and Don Smith were
ushers.
The newiyweds and their parents
rrcclved in the parish hall follow
ing the rites.
Spring flowers decorated the
rooms, nnd the bride's cake, encir
cled with rosebuds, centered the
table. After the young couple cut
the traditional first slice of the
wedding cake. Mrs. Frederick C.

tial setting. The hour is 4 o'clock.
Miss Joah Thompsor will be her
sister's only attendant, and the best
man will be Colonel Sexton Berg of
San Francisco who served overseas
with the groom.

Newton Nelson, both of this city.
A reception will follow at the West
ern Women's club in Snn Francisco,
and the couple will have a wedding
trip south and be at home here in
the Marion apartments after
June 1.
Going south for the wedding will
be Mr. and Mrs. Franklin L. Weaver,
Mrs. Rose M. Poole and her daugh
ter, Mrs. Prentice Yeomnns, Mr. and
Mrs, Vincent Lawler and Mr. and
Mm. Newton Nelson.
Mr. and Mm. Weaver plan to
spend the following Sunday with
their son Clark and familr at Stock
ton, Calif., returning here early the
following week.

OSC Festivities
Attract Mothers
Roses and orchids, violets and potted plants were steaming Mother's "
way this week-end as the annual Mother's Day observance presents '
Itself tomorrow, Sunday. May the ninth.
At the University of Oregon and at Oregon State college, campus
affairs were being arranged for the pleasure of mothers of men and
women students.
Going to Corvallis for OSC festivities this week-end were Mr. and
Mm. R. Heber Radcllffe, who will be guests of their son. Billy. They J
will also stop in Eugene to see their daughter Helen and her husband,
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Grafe.
Mrs. Glenn Kent left for Corvallis Saturday morning to spend
the week-end with her daughter Joy, and she was accompanied by '
Mrs. Dave Llskey and daughter Tottsle, who will visit Maxine Liskey ,
on the campus. Mrs. Kent plans a trip to Portland before returning :
home. "
Here to spend Mother's Day week-end are Mr. and Mrs. Robert U
Gallagher and two sons. Michael Francis and Robert Anthony, who
drove in Saturday at noon from The Dalles. They are with Bob's A
mother. Mrs. Francis R. Olds, 446 Riverside, and also with Mrs. Olds'
mother, Mrs. James McClure of this city.
Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Blocklinger of Chiloquin drove north to Tacoma, '
Wash, to spend the week-end with daughter Sally who is a student at0
Annie Wright seminary. Sally Is a senior student and a member of tha "
traditional May Day fete court which is one of the loveliest festivities '
of the year at Annie Wright
. Mrs. William Creswell and daughter Colleen of 'the Merrill road
were en route to OSC for Mother's Day week-end to spend the time
with Jim Creswell.
Mrs. Calvin Peyton will also be on the OSC campus this week-end,
guest of her son Harold, third-year student .
Rodney Murray spent last week-end at home here with his par
ents. Mr. and Mrs. Percy Murray of Pacific Terrace, and this past"
week Mrs. Murray has been In San Francisco for a visit. ,
Quite the nicest Mother's Day present came at 6:30 p. m. last ,
Tuesday when a call placed by Major Embert Possum at Seoul, Korea,.,
at 10:30 a. m. Monday, reached his mother. Mrs. John Possum of 303 .
Pine street, as a wonderful surprise. Mrs. Fossum talked with both her ,
son and daughter-in-law Ruth but missed a conversation with their I'
young daughter Martha, who was busy In school.
Ruth said the weather was beautiful with 'rhododendron, azalea'
and cherry blooms in full bloom. All are well and expect to sail from 7
Seoul In October. The conversation, according to Mrs. Fossum, was as '
clear as visiting with someone In town over the local wires.
Mm. Mamie Giacomini of Merrill received a thrilling Mother's"
Day gift from her daughter. Mm. Walter Kelly, who Is, living in Salz
burg, Austria with her husband. Captain Walter Kelly and daughter t
Joan. The present was an honest-to-goodness hand carved, real cuckoo
clock, complete with cuckoo and all. Tucked in the box was a wax,
apple and inside the apple was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs .
all beautifully fashioned. The Kellys expect to sail for these blessed
United States in July.
Mrs. James Patterson of 1133 Crescent was pleased to learn that'
her sister. Mrs. Maude Miliar Schmidt of Fort Benton, Mont., had been
named "Montana Mother" and was one of three final candidates for
the title, "American Mother of 1948." Mrs. Schmidt has visited here and
made many friends while a guest in Klamath Falls.
Mm. Fae Wilson is spending Mother's Day week-end In Ashland as
guest of her daughter, Caryl Vanderwall,- who is completing her second,
year at Southern Oregon college.
Home for the week-end is Mark Hattan. alsd a student at Southern
Oregon college, visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Al Hattan of 2243
Huron.
In Klamath Falls for the week-end are Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig
Peterson of Prinevllle, parents of Mrs. Lane Warren of 1436 Eldorado.
Ensign Peggy Bishop, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bishop of
Weyerhaeuser, has spent the past two weeks with her parents and
will leave Monday morning to report back for duty with the United
States navy nursing corps, San Francisco. i
Mra. Robert P. Ellingson Sr. has returned home from Ladysmlth,'
Wis., where she was called some time ago by the Illness of her sister,
Mrs. E. O. Ellingson. Dorothea Ellingson is remaining with her aunt
for a time.
Nicely settled In an apartment on Oreen street in San Franclsc
are Wanda Shaw and Merlon Albrecht Wanda has accepted a position
in the personnel department of American Trust company and Merlon
is still with Otis McAllister. Mrs. Emil Albrecht and Mrs. Carl Steln
selfer recently visited the two.
Cards from Mr. and Mrs. Walter Beane advise friends that they
are thoroughly enjovlng their trek around the country and this past
week they've seen Boston. They are In New York at Hotel Barclay
this week-end and will go to Philadelphia next
Congratulations to Jean Henderson on her 16th birthday which
was observed with a family dinner party last 8unday, May 3. Quests
were Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Geary and Alice. Mrs. Nelson Hogan and Mrs.
Paul Bernhardt of Reedsport, Marvin Thomas Jr., of Tulelake, and,
Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Henderson and daughters Ann and Jean.
Ruth Landry, freshman student at Oregon, was recently named
chairman of the poster committee for the annual Twlstle sale, spon
sored by Phi Theta, Junior women's honorary. A "twlstle" is a dough
nut, we gather.
The measles should Just about run out of victims, but not as long
as little boys can pass it along. At the Bill Van Buskirk home, Roddy
had It or them, first, then Doug came down, and thia week father was
the center of attraction.
The Oregon state highway department will pay for the north
entrance by the time the layout la finished through the added amount
of gas folks have to buy to get around.
Mrs. John Shaw and little Susie were here the early part of tht
week from Redding where they now make their home. They wera
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mack while In Klamath Falls.
The nice, chubby baby pictured In a weather story In Friday's;
Oregonlan was the young son of Mr. and Mrs. Noel Benson of Portland,'
and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Benson, now living In Southern.
