Allen declared in his telegram to
Ching that the strike by the AMU
violated the existing contract. He
said that under the national labor
relations act, an Illegal strike re
moves the collective bargaimne
rights of those engaged in the strike.
"Your attention is railed to the
fact." he told Ching. "that this issue
la now pending before the national
labor relations board."
Allen named James P. Murray,
vice president of the company;
James D. Esary, labor relations
manager and DeForest Perkins, of
the company's attorneys, to go to
Washington If Ching wants them to
present the company aide of the
dispute.
Meanwhile, a committee named by
Mayor William P. Devin reported
today it was unable to find a basis
for resumption of negotiations be
tween the company and the striking
union. The committee was named
last week to explore possibilities of
ending the strike.

The King and Queen of the Air,
a thrilling aerial team, will be one
of the feature attractions on the
midway of the American United
Shows, coming to Klamath Falls
fairgrounds for six days, starting
Monday. May 10. under the auspices
of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Charles R. Mason, show's general
agent, reports to this office that
the American United Shows Is now
the largest show in the West and
that it takes 74 trucks and trailers
to move the big show from town to
town and that they will have 11
rides, 8 sideshows, 35 concessions,
two thrilling free attractions and
their own light plants.
"We have with us many attrac
tions never seen In the Northwest
before." states Mason. "Our fea
ture sideshow is Ramblin' Tommy
Scott and his Hollywood Hillbilly
Jamboree. This will be the first
time a big name attraction has
ever been present on a carnival
midway. We feel that it was about
time that the carnivals gave the
show-going people something for
their money, not just a few tents
with nothing much in them for
people to see. We also have Capt,
Elmbert and his daredevils in the
big motor-drome, good Fun House,
a wild animal show, boxing and
wrestling show and a good girl
revue. In new rides we are fea
turing that new 52-foot high thrill
ride, the Hi-Ball, and twin ferns
wheels and a special kiddie land
park."

stage, screen and records, and his
Hollywood Hillbilly Jamboree, wlU

ican United Shows, coming to
Klamath Falls fairgrounds for six

as the king of the hillbtllys and
well known on the air. as he ap
peared on all of the leading radio
shows of its kind for the past 13
years, will have with him in his
Hollywood Hillbilly Jamboree such
radio artists as Big Pete Potter,
Hillbilly love song singer: Clara
belle, the gal from the mountains;
Ftddltn' Jimmy Vance. Eddy Wil
liams. Baby Sandre, 5-year-old
singing star, claimed to be the
youngest hillbilly in the show
business: Frankle Scott, and In a
special tented barn dance theatre
will put on three shows each eve
ning. The first show will start at
8:30 p.m.
This will be the first time a show
of this kind has ever been pre
sented on any carnival midway and
it is Scotts first road trip. The
show comes direct from Nashville.

The week Just rinsed has not been

work was done between showers In
plowing, planting and land prepar
ation but showers occurred so regu
larly that a continued farming
operation could not be rarrlrd on.
Quite a bit of grain was planted
mainly on the smaller farms and a
few fields of potatoes were planted
In the aouth end.
