Pollr reported Mrs. Loyca J.
Threlkeld waa driven to her parked
ear by a taxi. She left the taxi and
entered her car, calling to the
driver to help her open a glove
compartment.
Tha taxi driver. Mark Corley. aald
he opened a door to the car to
comply and aa he did Mra. Threl-
. keld apparently stepped on both
the starter and accelerator.
Corley and other witnesses said
the oar spun Into the street In a
circle and on the third go-round
hurled Mrs. Threlkeld to the pave-
; ment. On the fourth trip, police
quoted Corley. the car ran over
Mrs. Threlkeld.
The car finally came to a halt
against a curb.

I have been on the Klamath Falls
police department nearly 13 years,
and am a sergeant In charge of the
street force from 4 p. m. to 1 a. m.
I have Just flnlahed a course In
police training. This school was eon
ducted by the sheriff's deputies of
Multnomah county and FBI agents.
In the paat. I have attended many
such schools.
I have had years of business ex
perience as a box factory superin
tendent, grocery store owner and in
a service station aa owner and oper
ator, I have been on many man hunt
with posse for lost persons In the
hilts and for escaped criminals.
I am a strong believer In teen-age
clubs, Juvenile work In all forms
and In probation for first offenders
where the violation Is not too vici
ous. I will cooperate with all other
authorities In this type of work In
every way possible.
I believe Uie man living In the
outlying district of the county Is
entitled to as much consideration
as the man living In town.
I have the education, experience
and tralnlilg to handle the sheriff's
duties and resiectfully ask your sup

Bikmi atomic bomb testa have been
sunk by naval gunfire off Kawa
Juleln. the navy said today. They
are the attack transports Dawson
and Carteret and the L.8.T. 62. They
were sunk Sunday. So far 14 dam
aged and radioactive target ships
have been sent to the bottom. In
cluding the battleship Pennsylvania.

Auto Wreck
Victim Dies
Mrs, Ida Mue Llskey, wife of A. A.
Llskey of Litchfield, near Husanvllle,
Calif., died April 16 at a 8ussnvll)e
hospital as the result of shock and
Injuries received In an automobile
accident April 13.
Mrs. Llskey Is the former Ida Mse
Orchard of the Merrill district and
Is well known In this area. Her hus
band Is the brother of Dave, Dsn
and John Llskey, Klamath Falls.
Llskey Is still confined to his hospital
bed, suffering from broken ribs, a
dislocated shoulder and other hurt.
Final rites for Mrs. Llskey were
held Monday with interment In
Janeavllle cemetery. Relatives here
said that the Ltskeys were hurt when
they were involved In a two-car ac
cident near fitandlsh. Mrs. Llskey
was 73 at the time of her death. Dan
and John Llskey attended services
for their slsLer-ln-law. !
