Two Buildings
Two smsll outbuildings were de
stroyed by fire early Monday after
noon at Uie Hrdrlrk residence. 1806
Hope, when a grass fire started on
the property adjacent to Hedrlck's
place wenl out of control.
The county fire department waa
called but not In time to save Uie
small structures. Residents of Uie
area said men preparing to plow Uie
field next door touched a match to
the graaa and It roared out of con
trol within a matter of minutes.

mary election up to noon Tuesday.
Operated by the League of Wom
en Voters, the portuble office has
been visited by a steady stream of
potential voters. Kxact figures were
not available, but registration at that
point has been running about 3 to 3
democratic.

With Theft
Of Automobile
A charge of larceny of an auto
haa been placed against Ralph
Welser, 19, Hprague River Indian
who waa wounded during an at
tempted burglary of a tavern at
Honanxa last week. Welser Is still
In Klamath Valley hospital with
a bullet wound In his hip.
The car thefl complaint was
signed against him Tuesday morn
ing by Mra. Ruby E. Runnells of
Hprague River, accusing Welser of
stealing a truck which was aaaert
edly used by Welser and a com
panion, 17-year-old Blmcon Bu
chanan Riddle Jr., In the Bonanza
break-In and a similar burglary
of a Beatty pool hall.
After Welser and Riddle were
driven from the tavern by gunfire,
the truck waa abandoned at
Sprugue River.
The two youths are already
named In two felony charges of
burglary, and Riddle Is in Uie
county Jail. Another youth. Loren
tlne Welser, 18. brother of Ralph,
la held In Jail on a charge of pos
session of stolen property. 1
Riddle was ordered bound over
to the grand Jury Monday afternoon.

Management conference opening to
day. Speakers arriving for the two-day
meeting told the conference plan
ning committee they will remind
business leaders about the strategic
concentration of some of their most
