VFW Auxiliary
The woman'! auxiliary to the
Veterans of Forelan Wars met In
the library clubroom Thursday eve
ftlng, April 16, with Patricia Henry
presiding. Jennie Arnold reported
on the dinner given for veterans,
the auxiliary and their wives and
husbands on Hie night of the Joint
installation. Ermadee La Barge re
ported upon the Joint Installation
of Merrill and Malm officers held
at Malln. and also upon the one
at Tulelake. She was the Installing
officer. II was decided to make
contribution to uie Teen-Age club.
Blanch Beldralne was elected chap.
lain and Helen Warren conductress
and both were duly Installed at this
time.
Jennie Arnold was appointed
chairman of the poppy sale com
mittee and Mary Wells and Caroline
Williams were appointed as mem
tiers of the flower committee. A
membership drive has been started
and there will be an award given
at the end of the year to the In
dividual with the best score.
Ella Mullin, past president, who
has been traveling during the past
year, gave a short talk and a gift
was presented to Ermadee La Barge,
past president, who is soon to leave
Klamath Falls. As this was the
first night that Patricia Henry pre
sided, she was the hostess and
served refreshments. The next meet'
lng will be May 6.
Garden Club
The Bonanza Langell Valley Gar.
den club held its regular meeting
at the home of Mrs. Virginia Toffel
on Friday afternoon, April 16. Alter
regular business was taken care ox,
Mrs. Bessie Frazier and Mrs. Flor
ence Horn gave a report on the
district meeting at Jerome Prairie
which they attended, and which they
aid was very colorful and interest
ing. Mrs. Frazier made a winter ar
rangement tor which she received
" a clue ribbon.
In answering the roll call, mem
bers discussed what kind of flower
the. would grow if they were limited
to just one flower. The pansy proved
to be the most popular, with pe
tunias and roses second and third.
Because the regular meeting was
set back a week on account of the
district meeting, the next meeting
falls just a week from the last, on
April 23. This meeting will be qu.te
Important, as the club will have as
special guest, Mrs. S. B. Osgood
of Grants Pass, district vice presi
dent. Mrs. Osgood is to give a dem
onstration on the making of cor
sages. In order to have a long after
noon, the club will have a poiluck
luncheon at the Bonanza library at
12 noon. The Klamath Falls and
the Lost River Garden clubs have
been Invited to attend this meeting.
Hat Party
Women of the Moos are holding
a crazy hat party and "Breakfast
In Hollywood" dance Saturday night

guests.
Tom Brtneman who launched the
Breakfast In Hollywood radio pro
gram is sending an orchid for the
eldest member present and other
awards will be made to the one
chosen a the best good neighbor
and to the creator and wearer of
the hat Judged the craziest
Man art encouraged to design the
hats for their women to wear for
this unique affair.
Members should drop their ballots
In the box at the hall for their
choice of good neighbor. Refresh
ments will be served during the
evening.

niversary of the organization of the club. Schoolmates is made up of women who attended school together in Klamath

club at the home of Mrs. William
Kandra Thursday. Apnl 29. Hours
will be from i until 4 o'clock.
The book review is an annual af
fair of the club, and proceeds go for
various dub activities which include
picnic and other recognition of
eighth grade graduates of the Wi
nema grade school, only one on the
West side.
Assisting Mrs. Kandra will be Mrs.
John Takacs Jr., Mrs. 8teve Tskscs
and Mrs. Ora Fox.
The public Is Invited.
Style Show
There will be a style show for all
young girls in the city this Thurs
day evening at 7:30 at the Fremont
school auditorium. J. C. Penney
Store will be the sponsors and fur
nish the apparel which will include
sports, casual and party clothes
for girls from 7 through IS years
of age. Uniforms and play toga for
Qui Scouts will be featured.
Movies will be shown for the
young people after the fashion re
vue is over. The auditorium will be
decorated by Kohn's Flower shop,
and music will be played during
the program. The public is invited.
