One of Four
Klamath county Is one of the four
counties being studied In Oregon,
the others are Clatsop, Coos and
Deschutes. Oregon Is the first stat
to take part In the survey and will
be followed by other states In the
western region.
This nationwide nulrlllnn survey
Is the result of the research and
marketing act of 1046 and Is being
conducted Jointly by the IJ. H. pub
lic health service and the bureau of
human nutrition of the U. 8. de
partment of agriculture.
The stale and county health and
nutrition auenries are directing the
work lu Oregon with advisory serv
ice of the Mute and county medical
and dental societies. In each coun
ty the work Is under the Immediate
direction of the county health offi
cer. The examining team Is headed by
Or. Clara Ktarvlck. nutrition scien
tist from Oregon Htate eollrge, and
Kr. Mheldon Dray, assistant sur
geon, IJ. H. public health service,
with assistant of two biochemists,
a bacteriologist, ft dentist, ft dental
X-ray technician, two pwnlle health
nurses and others.
A completely equipped mobile unit
will be brought here.
Any student who moeU the re
quirements, as listed, may partici
pate In the survey by consulting the
school principal.
Templar Death
Learned Here
Word of the sudden death of Mrs.
Earl J. (Dorothy) Templar at her
home In Brookings early Wednesday
morning, was received here by rela
tives lata In Uie afternoon. Mrs.
Templar, 48, died at the Templar
hotel which she and her husband
operated In Uie Curry county town.
The Templar family lived here for
many years and Just three years ago
moved to Brookings. Mrs. Templar
served two years ago as department
president of Uie American Legion
auxiliary, stste of Oregon, snd was
long active In Legion affairs here.
She was also cUve In Eastern Star
circles and was worthy matron of
Aloha chapter here In 1040 and also
a member of Aloha chapter. Past
Matrons club.
At Uie time of her death, Mrs. ;
Templar was worthy matron of the ,
Brookings chapter of OK8. Her
mother, the late Mrs. Cora Sander- j
son, served as worthy matron of ;
Aloha chapter In 1011. !
Mrs. Templar Is survived by two i
daughters, Mrs. Ermel (Margaret) !
Hosley of Ban Jose, Calif., and Mrs, :
Archie (Dorothy) Dlmentof Eugene.
Both were In Brookings today. Four
grandchildren also survive. I

Klamath Falls left Thursday for
Brookings to attend final lite.
