and advised Mrs. Moss that he

Redwood operators have followed
the wage Increase pattern shaping
up in the Pacific Northwest by
grunting a a-ceut-an-hour In
crease. Some 4000 California mill and
woods workers will get the boost,
retroactive to April 1.
The operators' committee, repre
senting eight companies In Men
docino and Humboldt counties,
said the increase was voluntary
and had no bearing on end of the
27-nionth strike Monday. The com
mittee added that the operators
"naturally are pleased to learn
that the Lumber and Sawmill
Workers' union has ended Us
strike against our woods and
mills."
