Teen-Age Club
To Open In
Two Weeks
The Klamath County Tftil-An
center will open In about two weeks,
a soon as remodeling Is completed.
Bill Procter, director, said Thurs
day. Carpenters, members of the Kla
math Kails union, are donating
their labor, and Procter said that
all of Die lumber yards in town

remodeling.
Any business firms or Individuals
who have furnishings to donate are
urged to call Procter at 7113. Proc
ter said that furnishings for the.
center are badly needed.
The scrap drive being conducted
by the teen-agers will continue for
several days, and will begin this
Saturday in Merrill and Tulelake.
Proceeds from the drive will help
finance the center's program.
The Teen - Age center's radio
broadcast on radio station KFJI
each Saturday evening will be
handled this week by Sacred Heart
academy students. Time of the
broadcast will be announced early
Saturday.

Theft Suspects

questioning In connection with a
series of Seattle and Portland rob-

! arrested In widely scattered raids in
hotels and apartments.
The arrests followed a tip from
Portland police. Detective Sgt. I. A.
O'Mera ordered the full homicide
and robbery force into the dragnet
operation which led to the arrests.
The room of one of the arrested
men yielded three pistols and a
paper sack filled with half dollars,
quarters, dimes and nickels.
Police said two of the arrested
men admitted robbing a Portland
night club of $1000 before coming to
Seattle yesterday.
All were held this forenoon with
out chArge.
O'Mera said all members of the
group were being questioned about
the March 21 robbery here of the
Sander Fountain Lunch office by a
gang which tied up Mr. and Mrs.
Edward Sander in their home while
robbing their office safe.

Long Estate
Goes To Son
Probate filings of the estate of
the late E. R. (Pat) Long, who died
March 26. made no estimate of the
value of the estate except that It is
In excess of $25,000 and the bulk of
the property goes to Long's son,

The prominent Klamath county
rancher left a will dated March 2,
1947. with A. W. Schaupp. attorney,
in which he named Murel A. Long
executor of the estate.
The will provided that the widow,
Mrs. Janice Long, be given the fam
ily home at 1545 Eldorado In lieu
of dower and other claims and that
the son be given the remainder of
the estate. That Includes the Long
ranch holdings on Lower Klamath
lake which the father and son re
cently purchased and Incorporated.
Seven of the state's 13 deleitutes will
be elected irom the door ol the con
vention later today.
Maine's national delegates normal
ly go unpieuged and there were no
indications the full convention meet
ing later in the day would alter this
tradition.

He said records of the state bu
reau of criminal Identification at
London prison farm showed her to
be .Mon MrBrlde, alias Ferguson,
formerly of Yuma. Colo. She was
listed a wanted In the western
cities In 1937. he said, but did not
give the reason.
The woman wa one of two slashed

Jerusalem-bound Jewish food con

through fierce Arab gunfire In the
Judean hills.
Early, scant report said. It was

both sides.
The convoy, trying to get food to
the beleaguered Holy City, ha been
stalled by Arab guns for two day
only 15 miles from Jerusalem
gates. Arabs have dug In on the
Judean hill commanding ap
proarhe of the Tel-Avlv-Jerusalem
road.
Jewish sources reported 17 Jew
and some 30 Arabs were killed in
the convoy first effort Wednesday
to crash through to eJrusalem

There was only sporadic gunfire
