The production and marketing administration asked mills to submit
flour oflcrs within one hour alter the market closes. Shipments will
be to the Quit of Mexico In April.
Wheat closed 3 to 314 higher, May 2.44-H. corn was S'-5'i
higher, May 3.31-2.31H, oats were l'-3' higher. May and
soybeans were 6 to 7 cents higher, May $3.76-3.74.

compared with 1,780.000 yesterday.
On the downside the greater part of
the day were U. S. Rubber, Good

Land was leveled and scraped, the
plumbing system with underground
sprinkling was put In, loads of top
soli hauled and spread, the ground
seeded to grass, and trees planted.
Playground equipment has been
ordered and the park will be ready
for use this year. There will be a
battery of swings and see-saws and
slides for sum II children. A soft
ball diamond Is planned, basketball
and volleyball courts plotted for
summer recreation of children living
in the Mills area.
The turf is coining along fine and

parkins between the curbing and
sidewalks surrounding the park un

quest for Joint rail-barge rates on
Columbia river petroleum and
wheat shipments was over today.
ICO examiner Howard Hosmer
gave the parties until August 1 to
submit written arguments.
Frank S. Clay, manager of the
Portland Traffic association, was
one of the last witnesses yesterday.
He argued for the Joint rates. Most
of the hearing was devoted to the
railroads' arguments against the
proposal. The barge lines had pre
sented their case last fall.

Youngster's Body
Found In Lake
