Faces Charge

Donald Carl Prause, 30, Ooldendale,
Wash., wa held under $2500 ball
today on a federal car theft charge
which Involved a 1946 gun battle
with police at Chinook, Wash.
Prause was arraigned before U. S.
Commissioner R. A. Leedy late yes
terday after his arrest In Inde
pendence by FBI agents and Police
Chief Ray Howard.
Police said Prause escaped Irom
a Multnomah county Jail gang In
March. 1946. He la charged with
transporting a stolen automobile
from Portland to Chinook. Wash.,
October 30. 1948. The driver of the
car escaped at that time tn a run
ning gun battle. Police later recov
ered the automobile.
