teacher, Vilma Szabo, telling of the fate of their relief shipment.

trict, dividing her teaching and her
contributions among them. In let-
tore to the girls she expressed her
deepest grttMtude for their gifts and
told of the dire need of clothing 'n (

She explained that at Christmas j

sun? Christmas lives were $45 a
ywdl She added that food prices
are terribly Inch, particularly "lux
ury things, like tea. coffee and
cocoa."
Girls of the Sacajawea group are
particularly gratilied in their proj
ect since they have established a
correspondence with Miss Szabo,
who tells them just what happens to
the articles they send. Other
Camp Fire groups have followed
their lead, and are sending gifts to
Miss Szabo.

Miss Szabo divides relief ship
ments among people in her
district of about 10 villages
situated some 70 miles from

Council Fire
Mrs. James Kerns. preMdeut of
the Camp Fire Girls council, and
Mrs. Lawrence Martz. president of
the Leaders association, will preside
at the grand council fire to be held
at the armory Thursday evening,
March 18. at 7:30.
The grand council fire is a tradi
tional ceremo.ua held annually in
Klamarh Falls during National
Birthday Week.
Over 50 girls will be honored with
special awards and ranks Thursday
night. All parens and Camp Fire
Girls and Blue Birds, council mem
bers, leaders, sponsors and friends
are Invited to attend.
Rebekah
Merrill Rebekah lodge met in
regular session March 1. The pro
gram consisted of a reading by
Audrey Lewis. "The Story of Ruth."
Geraldine Cox gave a report of the
Rebekah jewels, and a clever skit
was presented.
Delegates appointed to attend the
assembly at Eugene were Sylva
Jones. Hazel McNeil and Geraldine
Cox. Alternates were Mae Ander
son. Mary Pope and Mrs. George
Hancock. Three guests from Bonan
za were present.
Members reported ill were William
Poe. Hazel McNeil and Marge Burleigh.
Verlin. son of Mr. and Mrs. Or-
ville Rose of S316 California, was
honored at a going-away partv by
his fellow seventh - graders from
Pelican school. A lovely decorated
cake and refershments topped on
the party for the youngsters and
the young guest of honor.
The boy had been in a Klamath
Falls hospital for over a week, and
last week-end it was learned that
he was to be sent to Eugene for
another and longer stay in a hospi-
iai mere.
Annual Dinner
CHILOQUIN Mr. and Mrs. Ken
neth Roberts were hosts on Sunday
evening at a second annual dinner
for the Panther basketball team,
which on Saturday completed a
successful season.
The chicken dinner was served

used a blue and white color scheme.
Placecards were blue and white clad
basketball players with Panther
heads, each in a pose representative
of the position neld on the team.
The art work was done by Bill Kirk.
