Stocks Show
Some Gains
NEW YORK. March 13 i.-Pi
Stocks generally operated in the
plus ranks today although demand
wa light and many market leaders
suffered from neglect.
Gains of fractions to a point nr
so predominated near the close.
Transfers for the two hours ran to
around 300,000 shares.
The recently lively moving pic
ture stocks followed a slim groove
as efforts to sum up the benefits of
the Anglo-American film agreement
wtre being made.
Radio company stocks enjoyed a
late fast flurry on talk of brighten
ing prospects for television.
. Bonds were narrow. Grains and
cotton futures climbed.

No Love Lost Plows Attack
In This Man Diamond Road
Up To Date
OTTAWA. 111.. March 13 The
appellate court says farmer Henry
Factly Jr. must not try to evict his
aged mother. Rosa, from hts home
by using a noise-making bull, an
electric fence and other devices de
signed to annoy her. Factly owns a
farm near Elgin, 111.
Referring to Factly. Judge George
W. Bnstow said in hts decision he
believed "there is no remedy in the
court of law to deal with such a
caitiff." The dictionary describes a
"caitiff" as "a base., despicable
person."
The decision, announced yesterday,
upheld a lower court injunction is
sued in 1946. The decision said that
Factly:
Tied a bull to a tree near the
house and "provided the bull a play
thing which caused his mother
many sleepless nights. He tied a
milk can to the tree, leaving it sus
pended in the air, and placed in it
some rocks so that when the bull
butted the can, terrific noise would
result."
Placed an electric fence across the
driveway, "so that his unsuspecting
mother might receive a sudden
shock."
Caused the water supply to be
shut off.
Dug up her flowers and garden.
According to testimony, Henry
Factly Sr. and his wife, Rosa, deeded
the 94 acres to their son In 1936.
and he signed an agreement they
could live in the farmhouse all their
lives. The father died in 1941.
