Juckeland, a newcomer to Klamath
Falls, was elected to that position

with Mrs. E. A. Geary as first vice
president; Mrs. Fred Pope of Fort
Klamath, second vice president:
Mrs. Paul Lewis, third vice presi
dent; Robert Ross, treasurer, and
Mrs, Ted DeMerrltt, secretary.

ment conducts classes, prints
pamphlets and shows films with the
object of building a healthier com
munity, but the most valuable edu
cation comes In the home, he said.
Venereal disease could be con
trolled If the victim would reveal
his contacts to the health officer,
the consultant advised, but the
health department has to waste
t'me on sleuthing work trying to
find these contacts without much
help.

Williams, popular after dinner
speaker, will address the Knife and
Fork club at its regular meeting,
March 8. at the Willard.
One of the leading Rotarians in
the United States, Williams con
ducts a law practice in his home
town of Chickasha, Okla.
Said to have a workable, every
day philosophy which he passes on
to his listeners In a humorous, ac
ceptable way. this much-heard lec
turer is expected to draw a large
crowd to the dinner meeting for
March.

Niskanen was one of those who
gave his support throuuh the state
legislature to establish OVS. He was
impressed by the rapid development
of the training program offered by
the school.

class, sponsors of the dance.'
The OVS paper. The Owl, recently
added an "Inquiring Reporter" to its
sum. His subject this week was
spring vacation. Several students
were asked opinions with a number
of conflicting opinions resulting.
Some who are taking courses of
considerable length ..nt a vaca
tion, and others would prefer to do
away with spring vacation and fin
ish their courses sooner.

recent advertisers' convention In the
Veterans Memorial hall in Klamath

Anti-Inflation
Law Urged Again
KEY WEST, Fla., March 1
President Truman said today the
steel price increase was a good argu
ment in favor of his ami-inflation
proposals to congress.
Mr. Truman told a news confer
ence he had no new report on the
inquiry he ordered the justice de
partment, the council of economic
advisors and the commerce depart
ment to conduct.
However, he said he still felt the
necessity for drastic anti-inflation
action and that the steel increases
were a good argument for it.
