O'Donovan
Death Told
Friends of the Mcv. Father John
O'Donovan, 36-ycar-old Catholic
priest, learned with deep regret of
ll If- passing Haturday at St. Charles
hospital lu liend, following an Ill
ness of the past several weeks. A
kidney Infection was the cause of
death.
The Rev. O'Donovtn served In
the Kucrcd lliurt parish In Klum
ath Falls In im-M and was widely
known In Ihls community. He was
born August 14, 1912, In Dlrbrum,
Tlppcrary county, Ireland, and waa
ordained In June, 1937, at Bt. Pat
rick's seminary, Carlow, Ireland. He
came to the iiakcr diocese In Ore
gon In Beptembcr, 1937, receiving
from Bishop M'jOralh his first ap
pointment which was In Klarnatii
Falls. Next he went to The Dalles
and from there was sent as pastor
of the new parish at Dufur in 193o.
In 1941 he received the appointment
to the new Bt. Thomas parish it
Redmond, where he was serving at
thr time of his death.
Final rites will be held In Red
mond tomorrow morning but inter
ment will lake place at Mt. Calvary
cemetery here at 4 o'clock Tuesday.
The rc'iulem office will be recited
by priests of the diocese tonight at
7 p. m., at Kt. Thomas church In
Redmond and solemn requiem high
mass will be celebrated at the
church there at 10 a. m. Tuesday,
with Rev. O'Donovan's brother, the
Rev. Father Thomas O'Donovan as
clebrant. Father James O'Connor
of Merrill and Father Michael
Ahearn of Chlloquln will assist.

Injures Boy
Little Bobby SturUt, aged I. was
slightly Injured Sunday morning
when he was struck by a hit-run
driver on East Main near th Or
chard street Intersection.
Police have not located the ear
which struck the boy and his
bicycle. Bobby had stopped his
bike at the curb when a blue, pas
senger car, sedan or coupe, whipped
around Die corner off Orchard and
sideswlped him.
Witnesses told police the driver
appenrod to be stopping, looked back
and saw the boy he had knocked
down, and drove away.
