Thursday Event
The cliotr of the Bible Baptist church held a banquet February 1
lit VVIard'a restaurant. Rev. Keith P. Fields was master of ceremonies.
The affair will be au annual event. Waldo Rhoades opened the dinner

Mrs. Esther Caster gave a tribute In commemoration of the birth
day anniversary of Abraham Lincoln. Jerry Rhoades, program chairman,
led erouD singing.
Vocal numbers were presented by
a quartet, Sarah Fields. Verona
Rhoades, Don Roquemore and Jerry
Rhoades, and a trio consisting of
Leona Sanders, Marguerite Webb
and Ooldic Peterson.
Goldle Peterson, choir president,
led a testimonial period, and Sarah
Fields led closing devotions.
The benediction was given by Rev.
Fields.
Decorations were in a musical
theme with place cards and the
centerpiece carrying out that motif.
Mabel Carter was 111 charge of
decorations, assisted by Marguerite
Webb, Alma Ewing. Goldie Peterson
and Mrs. Leona Sanders who was
general chairman.

A wedding of interest here took
place in Reno, Nevada, at 8 o'clock
the evening of Saturday, January 31,
when Mrs. Ruth S. Dixon, daughter
of Mrs. Minnie Schooler of 535 N.
11th street, became the bride of
Louis L. Loper of San Francisco.
The bride wore a grey suit with
grey accessories and a camellia
corsage and she was attended by
Mrs. Alice J. Fleming while the
groom was attended by JacK A. Cal
laway, both of Klamath Falls.
The service was read by the Rev,
Charles J. Dolen in the First Chris
tian church and after a brief wed
ding trip the couple has returned to
Klamath Falls to make their home.

of Klamath post No. 8, American
Legion, and its auxiliary unit on

Women of the Calvary Baptist
church met Thursday to work on
their community missions project.
The day was spent packing cloth
ing for European relief.
The project Is part of the church
world relief program, a united ef
fort among all denominations to
bring relief abroad. Mrs. Gladys
Hambrlck Is president of the local
group.
The Thursday Contract club met
with Alice Lawrence, 3506 Anderson,
on February 12 for destsert and cards.
Betty Ketsdever held high score,
Bertha Hewitt, second, and Lillian
White received the traveling award.
