Bull Auction
Klamath basin cattle wintering
In the Sacramento valley will be
shown In the seventh annual Red
Bluff bull aale and show, February
t. 6 and 7, In Red Bluff, Calif.,
and many Klamath county cattle
men will be on hand.
Prime purpose of the show is to
improve range stock in this area
of Northern California and South
ern Oregon. Two outstanding beef
cattle graders. Vard Shepard and
Louis Rochford will grade the
stock at this year's show.
Shepard Is head of the animal
husbandry division at California
Polytechnic institute and Roch
ford is from the Tejon ranch near
Bakersfield. Not only must the
consigned animals meet strict re
quirements, but grading demonstra
tions will be made by the two men
to enable stockmen to yardstick
their own cattle.
Grading and '" U1 be held
In the livestock pavilion at the Te
hama county fairgrounds.
Highlight of the show will be
the aale of a registered Hereford
bull from the Crowe ranch In
Shasta county at auction. Proceeds
of this sale will go to the March

283 rugged Hereford range bulls
and 65 guaranteed ln-calf heifers
and 16 Shorthorn bulls.
The three-day program includes:
Thursday 10 a. m show of Here
ford females, bulls and Shorthorns,
followed by grading demonstration;
6 p. m.. entertainment for visiting
cattlemen at Hotel Tremont
Friday 10 a. m., sale of heifers
and March of Dimes bull and sale
of 16 Shorthorn bulls: 6 p. m..
entertainment for cattlemen at
hotel, 5:30 p. m. and 8:45 p. m.,
vaudeville show at State theatre,
Red Bluff.
Saturday 9:30 a. m., sale of 282
Hereford range bulls.

Merchants' Topic
Klamath merchants discussed
credit procedure, collections and ac
counts at a forum conducted Mon
day following luncheon at the Wi
nema hotel when 25 members of
Merchants Credit Service. Inc., ob
served the first session of the
month.
Frank Eberlein. president of the
board, presided, and arrangements
for the luncheon were made by
"Hap" Jones. The next meeting is
scheduled for February 18. at which
time Ray Ward will arrange the
program.

in San Francisco where he has boon

MEDFORD. Feb. 3 (AV-A. Moore
Hamilton, editor of the weekly Med
ford News, has announced lie may
seek the democratic nomination for
congress from Oregon's fourth con
gressional district.
Hamilton was Jackson county rep
resentative in the 1935 state legis
lature. He said democratic party
leaders have asked him to seek the
nomination.
