of American University Women

the city library board. Attending
were members of the library board,
the county court, town council and

The group voted to circulate the
petition without delay. If the tax

voted. It will be outside the six per
cent limitation which affects the
county budget. There was no de
cision as to how long the levy would

Klamath Falls Saturday end Im
mediately assumed his duties na
manager of Montgomery Ward and
company. He succeeds A. E, Olnes,
who has been transferred to Mc
Mlnnvllle, Ore.
Stroud has 18 years experience
with Ward and comes here from the
managership of the Ban Jose, Calif,
store. Prior to the war he was store
manager at Nampa, Ida. and Eugene,
Ore. and was also Pacific coast per
sonnel manager working out of Oak
land, Calif.
He was In the navy from 1042-45
as a commander on the staff of the
commandant of the 12th naval dis
trict, In charge of ship service acttvl
tles. A graduate of Oregon State, class
of 1926, he la a mmeber of Cill Phi,
the Elks lodge and the Hhrlnt. He Is
married and temporarily concerned
with securing housing facilities for
his wife end himself.
