have a date at Del Mar and they'll cmillnue on together from there.
The Palmm-loim leave here Thursday for a month In California and
they'll attend (laughter Mnrgle's graduation from the University of
California on February 4. Margie will tuck her degree under her arm
and go south with her parents, returning here for the rest of the spring.
Mr. and Mm Palmerton will also spend some time with daughter
Nndlne-Mr. Virgil Hanks of San Francisco.

ing dinner were a quartet, Wendell

Putnam and Ronald Hewitt, a solo
by Mrs. Robert Craig, accompanied
by Mrs. Patricia Hunt, a violin selec
tion by Athena Lampropulos, and
a vocal number by Gerald Falcs.
Rev. Victor Phillips, pastor, spoke
briefly to the group. Carol Stebblns
received the special prize, and the
gathering concluded with group
singing.

The Lambs are formerly of Klamath
Fnlls and are now living in San
Francisco. They left for home today.

Mrs. Nelson Reed was hostess at
a luncheon given at 1 o'clock Tues
day at the Pelican party room.
Small tables were centered with
bowls of freesiaa and Jonquils.
Forty were bidden to the affair.

Anniversary
The eighty-fifth birthday anni
versary of B. S. Grigsby, Klamath
pioneer, was observed Sunday with
a birthday dinner served at 1 o'clock:
at the home of his daughter. Mrs.
Ida Grimes, on Portland street. Mr.
Grigsby was 85 on Monday, Janu
ary 26.
Guests at -the dinner were Mr.
Grigsby, Mrs. Elizabeth Sanders of
Portland, C. W. Thomas of Winlock,
Wash., Mrs. Hal Pierce and Miss
Bessie Murray of Coqullle. E. Bond
of Medford, Chris Wandsted, Mrs.
H. A. Grimes, Mrs. Ivy E. Propst.
all of Klamath Falls, and Mr. and
Mrs. O. L. Brown of Olene.
In the evening the following
grand and great-grandchildren
gathered to greet Mr. Grigsby and
presented him with a beautifully
decorated birthday cake which had
been baked by Mrs. C. C. Heldrlch.
Present were Mr. and Mrs. Basil
Brown and son Barton, Mr. and
Mrs. Henry Grimes Jr., Gary and
Karen, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Davis and
Rodney, and Mr and Mrs. James
G. Grimes.
Promoted
Promoted to the rank of cadet
sergeant at Hill Military academy
near Portland were two boys from
this area. Richard A. Douglas, son
of Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Douglas of
1919 Erie, and Stuart D. Nolan, who
is the son of Mr. and .rs. William
J. Nolan of Crescent Lake.
The two received their promotions
at the academy's January military
formation.

Two Klamath Falls girls were,
among the 75 freshman women hon
ored at the annual "Smarty Party"
given by Mortar board, senior wom
en's honorary at the University of
Oregon.
The girls. Ruth Landry, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Paul O. Landry,
and Mildred Kiplingcr, daughter of
Mrs. M. M. Klplinger, were among
those who earned a grade point
average of 3.00 or better for fall
term. Miss Landry Is a liberal art!
major, and Miss Klplinger Is major
ing in speech and drama.
