Thursdsy's forecast of snow failed
to materialize last night In the lower
elevations and today was blight,
clear and warm. Mlnunum tempera
ture was 24 degrees between 6:30
and 7:30 a. m. this morning.
Packed snow was reported In the
Cascade mountain passes today for
the first time In two weeks, the
state highway commission said In
It 9 a. m. road report. One Inch of
new snow fell at 0""1I lake on the
Willamette highway, where the tem
perature fell to 14 degrees. There
was light snow on the roads, now

was registered at a depth of 44
