year on January 12 at the home of
Patricia Fairchild. 944 Eldorado.
Mrs. George A. Wright conducted
the regular business meeting. Char
lotte Bailey gave a talk on "Music
and Poetry" and Dons Daniel re
cited a poem for group discussion.

Elks Dance-
Arranged for this Saturday night.
January 24, is an informal dance
for Elks and their ladies. Dancing
will be from 10 to 2 o'clock at the
lodge, and the cocktail hour will be
from 9 to 10 o'clock.
Chairmen of the committee plan
ning the affair are Mr. and Mrs.
Wesley Guderian. and working with
them are Mr. and Mrs. Hale Scar
brough. Mr. and Mrs. Neal Stewart
and Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Addison.
Music will be by Morrison and
McDonald's orchestra.

There will be a turkey dinner at
the Winema hotel at 6:30 p. m.,
and for reservation call Bertie
Bishop, 6016, or Dorothy Derrah,
3724, as soon as possible. On Mon
day morning the executive board
will meet at the Winema for a
breakfast and school of instruction

chapter from William Snroyau'i
"Human Comedy." Hostesses for

The Women's association ot the
First Presbyterian church will hold
its regular monthly meeting Thurs
day, January 22. at 2:15 In the
church parlors.
Mrs. W. M. Campbell of Rose
burg, president of the Presbytenai
of Southwest Oregon, will be the
speaker for the day. Devotions will
be led by Mrs. J. C. Miller and Mrs. I
Lewis Hornby will furnish music.
Mrs. S. B. Hopkins will be hostess.
All women of the church are cor
dially invited to attend, and women
of the Peace Memorial Presbyterian
church are especially invited.
