Wheat Leads Grain Futures Up
CHICAGO, Jan. 20 My-Wheat
tht board of trade under persistent
Mflect government purchases 01 casn grain until prom chmuhk ae-
veloped toward the close.
The commodity credit corporation announced 1.983.700 bushels of
wheat were purchased here and in Kansas City from noon Friday to
Monday night. .... , , j
Peed grains followed wheat upward but later weakness developed.
Soybeans were weak. Oil the 8-cent limit at one time . . . lack of
buying was traced to satisfaction of processor demand.
At the close wheat was l to 3 cents higher than the previous
close May $2.99'i-',4. Corn was 1 to 3 cents higher, May $3.65,-T.
oats were to 3 cents higher, March tlMfi. Soybeans were 7 cents
lower, March $4.18'i.
