hoillli. put off making 194)1 ap
pointment to (he Klamath Falls
busing commission until further
sludy can be made into the work
ings of the commission, particularly
hi connection with recent fights
staged here.
The fight Councilman 'Smith and
others want to talk over wu n
debacle of November 4 when Jack
Hnnpp of Merrill, a good middle
weight, knocked out Irish Johnny
Taylor of Oakland In two rounds.
Many fight fans will argue that
Taylor was not knocked out but
simply took a dive. The latter hai
not been proven. At any rate, box
ing went Into an eclipse here after
that and no boxing matches have
been scheduled for the armory.
1krI boxers arc pursuing the pro
fession in other cities.
Councilman Smith said IMlay he
did not question the Integrity of
Lit. Ocorge H. Adler. Remy Stein
or ten Wright, members of the
commission, or Promoter Mack Lll
lard, but he thought some stricter
Instructions should be laid down
for the commission to follow.
Smith said that the commission
was a good one but might need
'Jnrklng up." The commlsslo.1
members are appointed by ths
mayor, with approval of the coun
cil, and veterans organizations here
benefit from ring proceeds.
Probably Thursday night Smith
nnd other councllmcn Will meet to
