The number of women hospitalized
by the VA grew from 1130 in July
1 of 1046 to 2035 In October, 1947, the
'last month for which figures were
' available. Of these, 1230 were In
: VA hospitals and 805 were In non-
VA hospitals. In addition, there
were 238 women In VA domiciliary
homes.
Of the 2035 women under VA
care. 1432 were veterans of World
War II.
i As of June 30. there were 13.652
j women veterans of World War II
j receiving compensation from the VA
as a result of w ar service. There w ere

I also receiving disability compen
sation or pension.
