ing by train for her home in Madison, Wisconsin, after spending the
holidays here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. Hebcr Radcliffe.
Marylhuint bound Sunday will be Mary Vandenberg. Florence Narey,
Barbara' Brosterhous, Patricia O'Leary. with Phyllis Hoiuel going on to
Seattle college. Earl Wlsecarver is going back to Portland university
as is Bill Colbert.
The Herald and News has received several "first robin" calls but
remembering the barrage of assertions that "we have the first robin"
kept us from announcing the arrival of the little red-breasted fellows.
But today along came a report of many, many robins, feasting on
the apples still hanging to the trees In Twyla Ferguson's back yard.
They're having a field day, according to Conger avenue residents.
Mr. and Mrs. John Bcchen of Deleker. California, were New Year
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Haarby Bechen and family of California avenue.
Holiday visitors in Klamath Falls included Mr. and Mrs. Kirk White
and son Kirk Jr.. of Manhattan Beach, guests here of Mr. Whites
mother. Mrs. G. W. White, and his two sisters, Mrs. Oscar Shive of
Washington street and Mrs. Charles I. Roberts of Pacific Terrace. Mr.
White is a former Klamath Falls resident and greeted many old friends
while here.
Mr. and Mis. Floyd Ranker, 203 N. Second street, have returned
from a five-day Christmas vacation at the home of Mr. Ranker's
brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin W. Shepard. Valley of the
Moon. California.
Mr. Shepard is a nephew of the late Jack London, noted Western
writer, and the Shepaxds live in the London home. This picturesque
old house is often included in sight-seeing trips around the San Fran
cisco bay area, and celebrities who visit the West are often entertained
there. The house is copied from a French chateau. Mrs. Charmian
London, widow of Jack London, was present at the Christmas festivities
this year, as were several other relatives of the Rankers.
Barbara Zinn leaves soon for Fresno State college at Fresno. Calif.,
and Mary Havens returns to Stephens college at Columbia, Missouri.

candlelight service read at the First Covenant church. December 26.
Rev. Selmer T. Jacobson read the ceremony at 7:30 before relatives
and friends of the young couple.
Vows were exchanged in a Christmas setting with two lighted
Christmas trees, poinsettias, white pompons and tall tapers forming
the background for the nuptials.

Lt. Royse recently went into active duty with the army air corps and is now stationed in

Bride Of Holidays
Ruth Helen Radcliffe walked down the aisle of St. Paul's Episcopal
church at 8 o'clock Sunday evening. December 28. to exchange vows
with Robert Frederick Orafe of Corvallls.
The Rev. Frederick C. Wlssenbach officiated at the ceremony before
many friends of the young couple. The altar was decked with poinsettias,
pews were maked with clusters of white chrysanthemums and poinsettias,
and there were many candles burning against the background of lighted
Christmas trees. The two young caudle lighters were Diana and Judy
Voorhies of Corvallis and they were gowned in floor length white frocks
with rosebuds in their hair.

Helen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

She wore a white satin gown with

loops of satin. Her veil of white
illusion net was caught at the head
by a braid of satin with clusters of
i orange blossoms on either side. The
