gan, hat completed recruit training
al Uie naval training center, Han

Jones enlisted In the naval reserve

to Join the regular navy for a tour
year cruise. March 17.
In the course of hit training the
recruit It taught seamanship, navy
cuttomt and terms, basic ordnance
and gunnery, tiguallng and naviga
tion. He learnt proper diving and
swimming, life saving and shipboard
fighting. Upon completion of train
ing he It assigned either to the units
of the fleet or to a service school for
specialized training.
