wounded yesterday near Sfax.

Police Hold
Theft Suspects
Two young negroes are lodged In
the county Jail today following their
arrest by state police here last night.
The two, Willie Haynea, 17, of Lewis,
Mo., and Phillip Jones. 31, of Rob
inson, 111., are wanted for burglary
in Orovllle, Calif.
State police picked them up on
Washburn way between Laverne
and S. 6th streets Monday night and
found that they had with them a
JO cal. U. 8. army carbine with a
box of shells, piece of a set of sil
verware, numerous articles of cloth
ing Including men' sports and dress
shirts, two suite, shoes, and blankets
and other gear.
Upon questioning they admitted
burglarizing a home In Orovllle,
state police reported. A check with
Police Chief Kessler of Orovllle con
firmed their story.
All of the articles on the two men
were Identified aa those stolen from
the J. W. Davis home in the Cali
fornia city Saturday night.
The property I valued at 325, and
all has been recovered except the
silver, moat of which was sold In
Susanvllle, Calif. Jones and Haynea
kept a few piece for their own use.
They waived extradition and will be
turned over to Chief Kessler Wed
nesday for return to California.
The older, Jones, told police he
had been arrested twice previously
in Chicago, once for tampering with
a motor . vehicle and again for
suspicion of robbery, and spent six
months in Jail. The younger man
admitted no previous record.
