1947 lamb crop was the smallest In
the past 23 years of government
records, the federal crop reporting
service said today.
The crop of 643,000 was 8 per cent
below 1946 and 44 per cent under
the 10-year average.
The drop was attributed to the
marketing of ewe lambs during high
price periods last summer and fall.
