The Fairbanks weather bureau
forecaster related that he was

Orendorff said he rolled cautious

he picked up a frying pan and

day on a roadside near Petah Tlqva

Authorities expreaaed belief he
was one of two Jews reported ab

army uniforms south of Tel Aviv
about two weeks ago.
Edward Curtis of the Associated
Press reported from Tel Aviv that a
taxlcab driver told him he found
the body at 10 a. m., and estimated
that the Jew had been dead 12
hours. Two Arabs rear the scene

seen the body hurled from a passing
truck a short time earlier.
Curtis said the all-Jewish me

back to normal today" after a night
and day of violence apparently
touched off by discovery north of
there Thursday of two British ser

gun Zvai Leuml, Jewish under

"It's the usual Shabat (Saturday
holiday) and the beaches are full
of people who don't seem concerned
or even aware of the tension in the

veterans will be given a 90-day
preference In consideration of ap
plications. The interior department an
nouncement pointed out that set
tlements along the highway will
be commercial or recreational rather
than agricultural. It said:
"While the land will be opened
to many forms of entry, the greatest
part of the restored areas is un

use.
"High elevations and adverse soil
conditions make the raising of
money crops on the land doubtful.
The distance from available market
centers Is another obstacle to suc

The government department said
it has primarily hi mind the estab

hotels, taverns, gasoline stations,
and health and recreational facil
ities. These will serve tourists and
attract new enterprises to Alaska,
the department said.
For construction of the Alaska
highway, the federal government
withdrew from public use a land
strip 40 miles wide, all along the
proposed route. Recently, a public
land order restored all but five
miles on each side of public domain.
The order approved today re
stores all of the remaining land
except for a 600-foot highway right-of-way.
