Rained Out
EUGENE, July 28 (i?V-The sixth
Oregon Trail pageant, scheduled to
be presented for the fourth and linal
night Saturday, was cancelled be
cause of continual rains here, ac
cording to an announcement made
Saturday by Horace Robinson, man
ager and co-director.
Robinson expressed hope to the
pageant "angels," local businessmen ;
who guaranteed Uie show's expenses, ;
by saying that the show played to:
capacity crowds Uie first three
nights approximately 18.000 specta-1
tors and he believed Uie receipts:
would balance Uie expenses.
The show Friday night was given I
in the rain, opening with a slight'
sprinkle and ending In a heavy rain. !

guns. A daring torpedo attack by
her escorting destroyers gave her
the few minutes grace needed to get
Uie engines running again. She
soon rejoined Uie force. Her guns
had never ceased their fire."

Star VI was on the high seas wl'h a
cargo of Bibles today, en route to
Uie Marshall and Caroline Wane
where naUves have welcomed five
similar ships from Boston since
1836.
Morning Star VI will pick up a
new crew in Honolulu and then sail
for the Micronestan islands where
it will be used to transport mis
sionaries around five million square
miles of Uie Pacific ocean as well
as distribute the Bibles written in
both English and Marshallese.
