The New York Yankees' merciless victory march In the American
leatue had even the rival National league clubs Jittery today.
With 19 straight victories under their bells to tie the American
league consecutive win record, the Bronx Bombers are casting covetous
glances at the only two winning streaks exceeding theirs the at
straight by the 103ft Chicago Cubs and the major league record of
28 polled by the New York Giants in 1910.
The Yankees made It 19 in a row yesterday when they defeated
the Cleveland Indians In both ends of a double header S-l and T-J at

Canadian and U. S. west coast the
second week in September for a
series of four or five exhibition

HOLLYWOOD, July 18 (W Al
lied Artists studio announced
Thursday plans to produce a movie
based on the career of Babe Ruth.
The former baseball star will re
ceive $150,000 plus a profit percen
tage which the studio estimated at
an additional $250,000. Bob Const-
dine, sports writer, ' will do the
screenplay.
No decision has been reached on
an actor to portray the King of
Swat. Locations will include ball
parks In which the Babe made
baseball history.

most folks in Hollywood today.
There are 200 of them, men and
women, representing the nation's tall
people. A requisite for membership
is an altitude of 6 feet, 4 Inches for

The first annual convention dele
gates will select a "Miss Tip Topper
of 1947" in a bathing beauty contest.
On the serious side Jack Stetson of
