business trip by plane lor Los An
geles, Calif,, Monday. She plans to
be gone a week. Her sister In Bly
Is earing for her daughter while
Mrs. Hess ts away.

munity attended the 4th ol July
parade In Klamath Falls and later
many went to the carnival and rodeo.
Several farmers have their first
cutting of hay harvested.
Little Diana O'Kcllly Is confined
to her home with whooping cough.
The gardens that were frosted In
the latter part ot June here are
slowly coming In again.

lemon, paprika, mint and cheese and
try these.
MINTED PEAS Green peas and
cool mint blend to make a dish as re
freshing as the evening breeze after a
hot day. Crush 6 fresh mint leaves
and add to ! cup cream or top milk.
Let stand. Shell 3 pounds peas and
cook, covered, in small amount of
boiling water until tender, about 10
minutes. Strain mint from cream;
' heat and pour over peas just before
I serving. Season with salt, pepper
and butter. Serves 6.

Golden yellow corn wears a jacket of
cheese. Be sure to make a nonstop trip
from oven to table. Cook husked,
cleaned roasting ears in boiling,
salted water to cover in a covered
kettle until tender, 5 to 10 minutes..
Remove from water; brush with
melted butter and roll in grated
American cheese. Place in flat bak
ing pan in moderately hot oven
(400 F.) 5 minutes or until cheese
melts.
