Down at Dunsmulr yesterday afternoon the Khmiath Suns and
Dunsniulr Eagles went through a heated and heads-up baseball game
which finally went to the Sons by a score of 8 to 1 to keep the locals up
near the top of the Northern California league standings.
Fran Miller lcfthanded out only five hits for the Eagles in out
pitching the highly regarded Bill Turpln, but was In the hole several
times by giving up four walks, A pair of timely double plays helped
along tiie Klamath cause.
Dunsmuir took the early lead In the second inning when Maurice
Beck singled, was sacrificed along

The third game was called after
the fifth inning when the Mer
chants stacked up 22 runs to the
Merrill Vets' three by the end of
the fifth inning. There will be a
re-play of this game at a later
data, due to the absence of several
of the key Merrill players.

cific Coast Pro Basketball league
has spread its wings, granting iran
chlses to six California cities and
hinting that Honolulu may be in
the fold before the next season
starts.
Setting up the new circuit at a
Saturday meeting here, league offi
cials decided to split the loop into
northern and southern divisions,
with a coast championship nlavotf
in the spring. The winner will tan
gle with- champions of the National
Pro Basketball league and Basket
ball Association of America in a
"world series."
Northern members lined up for
next season are Portland. Yakima.
Belliimham.- Seattle. Vancouver. B.
C. and Astoria. Ore.. With Tacoma
planning to reouest a franchise. In
the south will be Oakland. Ran
Jose. San Francisco. Pasadena. Hol
lywood and Long Beach. Schedules
will he drawn up July 12 at another
meeting here.
