Little Dorothy Sharp, three and a
half-year-old daughter of a Medford
rancher. Is none the worse today for
spending a night huddled under a
bush In Uie hilly Coleman creek
district, with only leaves for a cov
ering. Hhe was found yesterday by a
search party organised Uie previous
afternoon when the child failed to
return from a Jaunt to pick flowers
and wild strawberries.

A new enterprise In the Klamath
basin was getting Into production
today, and Its owners Herbert and
Howard uranam and Harvey uorg
man. are making plans for a full
scale effort. The new plant Is lo
cated Just off fllehn street on Uie
Old Rinippingiun roaa.
The Dlant will be called the Har
vey Tile Co. and will produce tile
building blocks. Production will be
concentrated on two sizes, a regular
tile and a smaller veneer tile. The
dally capacity or the new plant win
be approximately 3A00 units of the
regular tile, or 7200 units of Uie
veneer tile.
According to Harvey Rorgman, It
Is not only the plant that is new,

tivities will be at the Individual
schools where recreation centers

Roosevelt and Klamath Union high
school. Those Interested In wood
working and swimming will regis
ter at KUHH. with the exception
of youngsters In Uie Pelican dis
trict, who will sign up al Pelican
.school.

a complete outline of the project
and schedules. Smith stresses that
youngsters may algji up or with

The recreation set-up will run from
Monday to August 22.
Swimming Instruction will be
given for a 10-cenl per hour charge
to students at Uie KUHS pool, and

open for public swimming. Thurs
day evening will be reserved for
private group swimming provided
the recreaUon office receives re
quests by noon, Tuesday.
Cars Damaged
In Collision
Two cars were damaged but no
one hurt early this morning In an
intersection accident on Uie H.eno
road In Stewart addition. Deputy
Sheriff Marlon Barnes Investigated.
One car was driven by Marie De
Orande of Keno and Uie other by
Pred Wymen. route 3. Wyman drove
out on Uie highway from a side
road and said he did not see the
DeOrande vehicle approaching on
the highway. They collided In the
Intersection.
The tile blocks to be produced there
are made by a wholly new process.
In the past the mixture ol cement,
waterproofing, coloring and either
sand or pumice has been poured
Into the forming die, subjected to
a vibrating action applied at the
base of the die and pressed into
shape.
The tile being produced at the
Harvey Tile company wilt have two
aeparate "holes" In their center. The
portion of the block between them
adda necessary strength. In the pro
cess ol moulding these blocks that
portion of the new-type die which
forms the holes Is vibrated Instead
of the base as In the old process.
The resulting product, Borgman
firmly believes, Is superior to that
produced by the old method.
Also on the new side of the ledger
Is the basic material to be used. In
stead of a light pumice material or
plain sand, the product will utilize
volcanic sand. It is not as heavy
as sand nor as light as purnlce,
sort of in between you might say,
and Is very strong.
Engaged in actually making the
new blocks are, machine operator
Ieslle Dunn, who controls Uie ac
tual forming process; mix-master
Johnny Campbell, who controls the
mixture and sees to It that Uie
ratio of cement, coloring, water
proofing and volcanic sand remains
constant; take-off and curing man
Herbert Oraham, who racks the
blocks, keeps them wet during Uie
seven-day curing process.
Having Ironed out original pro
duction difficulties, Borgman be
lieves the new plant will soon be
producing material sufficient for
more than a house a day.
Another Baby On
Friday List
Another baby was reported here
today as having choaen Friday the
13th to make his entrance Into the
world. That brought Uie number
to two, according to Klamath Val
ley hospital authorities.
The Infant was born to Mr. and
Mrs. Leonard C. Maxwell, route
3, box 624, city, and weighed 8
pounds 11 ounces at birth. The
father ur employed by I. B. Brown.
Both mother and baby are reported
doing nicely.

In no case has complete damage to
crops been reported. Unless the cen
tral stalk has been frozen plants
can recover and with the soil In Its
present favorable condition and the
current mild, bright weather assist
ing, no loss Is expected In this area.
Early spring rye and fall rye and
wheat were probably damaged some,

mated, but no reports on these have
been received.
The area probably the hardest hit
by frost was the south end of the
county, but here damage was spotty
as elsewhere. The agricultural ex
periment station reported the tem
perature on Tuesday night at 33
