May Anderson gave a very lnterest
tnireport of the proceedings of the
Bebekah state assembly held at The
Dalles In May. Members from Mer
rill who attended the state assembly
were, Mr. and Mrs. R. Henry Ander
son, Mr. and Mrs. J. Leland Pope,
Mrs. Henry Cox and Mrs. George
Hancock. While there Mrs. Pope and
Mrs. Cox received the Degree of
Chivalry, which Is an honorary de
gree conferred upon members merit
ing the award.
Refreshments were served after
the meeting by Esther Johnson. Ann
Fruits, Dovle Reeder, Virginia Davis,
Walt Fotheringham and Betty
Brown. , .
The next regular meeting will be
held June 16, and all members of
the arm team are ipjuitu
present for practice.
Mrs. William Murry of San Fran
cisco, Calif., was here visiting her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Hays.
While she was here her mother, Mrs.
Havs, had major surgery in a Kla
math Falls hospital. Mrs. Hays is do
ing nicely and Mrs. Murry returned
to San Francisco by plane Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Blng Christiansen, of
Vancouver, Wash., spent the Memo
rial Day holidays with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Van Meter.

Mrs. Ida Rogers of Portland was a
guest last week of her sister and

visiting a brother in San Luis Obispo
and was on her way nome.
Young Tim Allen, not yet three
weeks old. was a Chiloquin visitor on
Friday. He came up with his mother
to get a first hand look at the home
ot his aunt and uncle. Mr. and Mrs.

Margaret Molltor left for her
North Dakota home on Sunday eve
ning. She will spend the summer
months on the family ranch but will
return to the local classrooms In the
fall.
Guest of the Wolff ranch last
week was Dr. L. S. Cressman who
was making arrangements for the
housing and schedule of the group
of students he w ill bring next month
to conduct an archaeological survey
of the northern Klamath lake region.
Ruth Johnson left on Sunday for
Orland,. Calif., to attend the com
mencement exercises of a girl friend.

navy. He will leave on Tuesday for
his physical examination In Port
