picking, which will begin In a few
days, w " be two weeks earlier than
any year since 1941. thr last early
season, a survey of Willamette val
ley growers showed today.
Picking ol all fruit chips will be
gin early because of the early spring,
but fruit growers said their crois
will be much lighter limn those l
last year, because of frost and cold
rains during blossoming time.
Prune and cherry crops will be
especially light, with many prune
growers saying they won't have
enoimh prunes to pick.
Processors said all fruit prices
will be down considerably.
