world.
Jenkins served with the eighth
cavalry regiment of the first caval
ry dlviison for two years before he
began his fighting career tn 1938.
He won the title from Lou Ambers
in 1940.
Jenkins saw action with the navy
during the war and was discharged
in October. 1945. He rejoined the
army last February.
