Attend Contest
Klamnth Union high school will
send several conicnUints to the dis
trict music content to be held at
Albany, Friday and Huturday of
this week. Mcdlord. Ashland, Grants
Pass and Koscburg, In which dis
trict are also Klamath Fall and
Lakcvlrw, voted not to hold a con
test this year, which prevents the
participation of the larger musical
organizations. Two of the outstand
ing Instrument ensembles In the
school, the bruss sextette, under the
tutelage of O. K. Wurcup. and the
clarinet quartet, under John Mc
Manus' direction, will compete.
Included among the solo con
testant! will .be Barbara Zlnn,
piano: Wlltx-r Elliott, Catherine
Dianas, Gerald Fairs, and Doris
Weaver, voice, and Uruce Crawford,
tuba.
Members of the clarinet quartet
are Norma Smith, Lola Larson,
Jume Pearson and Charles Martin.
Members of the bras sextette are:
cornets, Charles Anderson and John
Epley: French horn. Bill Mosby;
baritone, Cameron Htewart; trom
bone. William Southwell, and Bruce
Crawford, tuba.
Contestant will travel by ear
and will be accompanied by Mrs.
Hunt, O. K. Warcup, and John Mc
Manus, of the music faculty.
