Farm York
v "
Temperature which hit consis

'liweded up farm activities through
out the entire KlamBth basin,; ac
cording to County Agent C. A. Hen
derson, and general plowing of the
fertile acres Is about the earliest on
"record.
5 Considerable leveling undertaken
lint fall and not completed has been
Hihlshed this spring, Henderson ob
served, and soil In general has dried
$ut to the extent that all kinds of
Jtiirt moving activities are consider
ably advanced.
'-. Not General
Planting Is not general as yet al
though rve, wheat and peas have
ecn planted In all parts of the
iounty. Flax and barley planting
Srill get under way the latter part of
the month and oat planting is wi
nter way at the present time. Also,
planting of onions and sugar beets
In the south end Is way ahead of
Jiormal and conditions have been
particularly favorable for planting.
Fine weather of the last few days
ias caused gardeners to get active
'knd much early gardening is going
5pn. Such hardy vegetables as peas,
radishes, carrots, turnips, etc., have
een and are being planted but the
more tender varieties such as to
matoes, corn, cucumbers, beans, etc.,
iliould not be planted for another
e?5 or 30 days. General blooming of
warly fruit trees Is underway and
might either mean a good crop or
hone at all. depending entirely upon
Veather conditions for the next few
.flays. At the present time prospects
are good for these early bloomers
tut rather low temperatures do oc
Jtur early at this altitude.
Much . Activity
While the Klamath basin potato
Jcreage sems to be considerably de
creased from last year there is much
activity at the present time in the
preparation of land and seed. A
tittle extremely early planting has
been started. General planting will
"hot get under way until about May
J.. Growers seem to be unusually
careful in the selection of seed stock
ws they realize that the kind of seed
Wanted will have a direct bearing
Jbn the income received this fall. In
terest in the treating of seed seems
rto be somewhat above normal with'

Austrian Foreign Minister Karl
