Roads Closed
Ed Morse, caretaker at Lake o'
the Wood, wan in Klamath Falls
Thursday and reported the
weather clear and beautiful at
the reiort, with much of the
now melted on top of the cabin
roofs and no new niqw since the
Inst week in January.
Morse said that airplanes could
land on the Ice-covered lake, but
that he would be glad to give
signals if the planes would circle
his cabins. He cut through the
ice at the lake and the ice meas
ured 18 inches thick, he said.
Roads are closed into the lake,
Morse advised, and he walked
from the resort to a point on
the hill where he left his car.
Minimum temperature this past
month has not been below 20
degrees, according to the care
taker. No cabins have suffered
from snow damage and from all
appearances it looks like an
early season.
Klamath Man's
Father Dies
Leonard F. Eberlein, 77-year-old
resident of Corvallis, died
Thursday morning in a con
valescent home in Ashland, ac
cording to his son, Frank Eber
lein of Klamath Falls.
Mr. Eberlein had been in ill
health for the past four months
and had been receiving treat
ment at the home. He was well
known in this area from his
many visits to Klamath Falls
for visits with his sons, Frank
and Harold, operators of the
Specialized Service company.
The two men are driving to
Corvallis Friday morning to at
tend funeral services which will
be held at the Mayflower
chapel Saturday at 3 p. m.
They will be met in Corvallis
by another brother, Arnold
Eberlein, of that city.

Open Soon

cupy the corner location in the
Lost River hotel. Mrs. O'Malley
who has been associated with
T. W. Jones, real estate broker
here is opening an office to be
known as the Helen O'Malley
real estate brokerage after Feb

Shanghai Nazis
Return To Germany
SHANGHAI, Feb. 21 VP)
Eighty-five nazis including all
but one of the 27 Germans tried
before an American tribunal on
charges of belonging to the sin
ister bureau Ehrhardt were
loaded aboard the transport Ma
rine Jumper here today for de
portation to Germany.
Approximately 1200 Germans
already were aboard the Marine
Jumper. They were picked up
at Yokohama, Japan, and, along
with the Shanghai nazis, will be
transported to Bremerhaven,
Germany. Seven other Shang
hai nazis scheduled for repatria
tion were missing.
