tracts for 1 047-48 had been
signed by Warren Center, super
intendent, and all teachers who
had resigned Saturday.
The new contracts call for sub
stnntinl salary increases. Middle

James R. Bowler became man
ager of the port of Astoria to
day, succeeding R. R. Bartlctt,
retired.
Bowler, formerly of Pendle
ton, has been RNaiatant manager.
The port commission announced
an airport manager would be
