Upper Lake Season Explored
In reiiiirda to tho 1047 fishing laws as recently set up by the
atutu guiua coininlsslou, this corner has had a couple of queries
about tho stutus uf Upper lUuinnlh lake.
The commission made only ono specific
chuugo in the previously announced schedule
for opening and closing limits In Klumuth
county, that for Lako o' the Woods, and so by
getting tho two gnmo commission bulletins and
a county map together, the following Inferences
lire drawn:
Pelican bay, at the northwest corner of tlio
luke where Crystal creek and Odessa creek come
In, is not open to fishing right now. The divid
ing line on the upper lake uguin this year will
run from Eaglo Ridge on the west side to
Modoc Point on the east shore.
Fishing aeaaon In tha upper part of the
laka, above that Una. was set to open Msy
24 and run to October IS. Inclusive, In
the gama commlailon'i tentative let of lawa. Tha part of tha
laka below that Eagle Ridge to Modoc Point line ii open all
year round.
When those dutes were act the game commission hod tenta
tively set May 3 to October 13 as the general trout scuson. Then
a week ugo the general season opening was bucked up to April
26, but as fur as Upper Klamath lake Is concerned, there hasn't
been anything como through to Indicate tliut the season ubovc
the dividing line Is other than as previously stated May 24 to
October IS.
The same applies to Agency lake, while Link river and Lake
Ewounn are open all year round.
In a couple of months the synopsis of laws booklets should
be out to set everything right, but I believe that the dates stated
above are correct.
Blow Aimed Al Pocketbook
I understand that there Is about to be Introduced In the state
legislature at Salem a bill which would kick the state game
commission right In the pocketbook, and If so there should be
some protest made.
Aa the information comes to this desk, the bill would toke
the money that comes In from sale of fishing ond hunting
licenses away from the game commission and put it in the state's
general fund.
Then to get money the game commission will have to request
It from the general fund, ond likely not get as much as It asks
for. Sportsmen here will wotch for developments on that Item.

Did Rocky Think It Over?
Rocky Graziano, prime contender for the middleweight box
ing championship and the second best drawing card in profes
sional fighting, has been given until next Tuesday to prepare
his side of the $100,000 bribe offered him to lake a dive in favor
of Ruben Shank.
Rocky has admitted being offered tha bribe, saying that
ha thought it waa a gag. but If tha New York state athlatle
commission decides that ha might have given the king-siied
ofler a second thought Oraslano may be barred from avar
drawing on another glove.
One hundred thousand bucks practically demands a second
thought. Anyhow, If Graziano Is set down it will enable Tony
Zoic to hang onto his middleweight laurels for a while longer,
because he and Rocky were due to fight uguin this spring and
Grazluno was a thorough choice to come out ahead this time.

On Gambling
NEW YORK. Feb. 1 P) The
National league has vowed un
conditional war against the
gambling menace.
This was the only official
news emanating from the closed
door National and American
league sessions.
The National league voted to
bar all visitors, save for ac
credited newspapermen, pho
tographers, radio men and
"other legitimate persons" from
dugouts, dressing rooms and
umpire locker rooms before,
during and after games. The
National league will supervise
Its drive to bar undesirables
while the American league has
ordered all its teams to act up
on it individually.
Ford Frick, National league
president, said rule 21, in the
major-minor league agreement,
had been adopted as part of the
circuit's constitution.
Frick was referring to the
statute regarding any player
who possesses knowledge of a
"fix" or an attempt at one.
Hereafter a player who gains
such knowledge and docs not
report it immediately will be
declared "permanently ineligi
ble" from baseball.

started treating my scalp and applying one of the ingredients
in this product to stop a severe itching of my scalp. The first
application stopped the itching; however,' the treatments were
continued at intervals to prevent a recurrence of the Itching.
There was no thought of growing hair.
After a month or so of treatment we were amased to find that
hair was growing on my head.
This inspired us to more persistent and systematic treatment
of my scalp and also to an intensive research to find out all we
could on the subject. I am proof that our efforts have been
rewarded.
After seeing the results I have enjoyed, many others have re
quested the treatment for themselves. Others are now using it
and are highly pleased with it.
This product is now being placed on the market under the
trade mark of O It O HAIR GROWER AND SCALP TREAT

Many men get bald because they do very little to prevent It.
More men remain bald because they do not know that there is
anything that they can do about it.
Now you can do something about it.

Plate Glass Backstop
Given Okay By Seals
SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 1 M The San Francisco Sea it
banged away at a plote glass backstop sample with everything
but the stadium cornerstone and came up breathlessly today
with the report that the new-fangled gadget works.
Intended to replace the chicken wire screens that hav
strained vision In baseball parks since Abner Doublcdav's time,
the glass successfully fended off thrown balls, lusty swings by
bats and even the thud of a six-pound Iron ball In an hour-lonf

marred its surface.
The Pacific Coast Icaeuo club
claimed a first on the glass
backstop for baseball.
The glass is not new to ath
