Will Move
A public ski tow will be in
operation for lovers ot the snow
sport next Sunday at Crater lake,
according to Charlie Fyock, man
ager of the Crater Lake com
pany. The tow, installed by Al
Vincze, will be 1000-foot lift
and located at the rim on Knob
hill.
Vincze's sub-contract with the
park concessianaires to operate
ski lifts has now been approved
with the revisions insisted upon
by the national park service writ
ten in. Fee for the service will
be 15 cents per ride or $2 a day
for anyone who wants to make
many trips down the slope.
Instead of exclusive ski tow
privileges asked by Vines in
his original sub-contract, he is
' givsn "preferential" privileges
. as to locations lor his commer
cial tow operation. In that
manner private non-profit lifts,
such as those run by individual
ski clubs, are not excluded.
For this coming Sunday one
tow will be running, powered by
a V-8 motor, and possibly an
other tow will also be running,
Fyock said.
Two buses will also begin run-
rung from the park headquarters
and the rim Sunday, at 10 cents
per tnp
Additional dormitory space has
been provided for 19 more men
for overnight. Fyock said, mak
inc facilities available for about
90 persons at the park now.
A record crowd was checked
in at the park last week-end and
the best of the skiing season is
still coming.
