Much hai been made ol the fact that Louli. th champion,
was behind on points when he finally tagged the Will o' th

could have won the prlie bauble that night merely by having
gone Into his shell and laited out th llnal three rounds.
That, as It happens, Is wrong. An extended study of the
score cards of the two ludges -
and the releree on that fateful
night has long since shown that
Billy needed to do more than
stay around to the final bell to
win the decision. It was much

THE WRONG COP
KANSAS CITY. June 17 (VP)
A woman approached a police
man in a bank here and asked
him about a loan.
He explained she would have
to talk to one of the bank offi
cers. She replied she already
had, and had men told to "talk
to the cop." He was the only
one she had seen around. '
The bewildered policeman
checked up. It developed she had
been told to see Ueoriie Kopp,
a vice president of the bank.
Currcn reported the telephone I
awakened him shortly after mid
night. "This Is Mrs. ," began the
late caller. "I've got fallen
arches, swollen ankles, varicose
veins, diabetes and a bad heart."
Curren gulped. t
"Someone threw a brick Into)
my yard," the woman continued.
"and I want you to investigate."
