Join Food
Campaign
The local Christian Science
church has Joined hundreds of
other Christian Science church-
ea throughout the country in a
drive to collect food to send to
Europe.
The local cnurcn naa been
sent the names of 13 European
Christian Science families from
the head church in Boston, and
each month a food parcel will
be sent to the families.
The church la accepting con
tributions from church mem
bers and anyone Interested in
making donations. A box has
been set up at the Western
Auto supply store, 1038 Main.
Any kind of packaged food,
puddings, cereals, and all kinds
of canned foods will be wel
comed. Also, If someone de
sires to have a box sent to a
family other than those whose
names the church has, the
church committee will be glad
to box the food for shipment.

To Hear Howe
Rev. and Mrs. Roger W.
Howes, of the China Inland
mission, and their two daugh
ters, Mary Ruth and Flora Nell,
will be guests of the Bible Bap
tist church this Sunday.
The Howes were In Shanghai
on the day of Pearl Harbor and
remained there as prisoners of
the Japanese government for
the next two and one-half
years. Inasmuch as they were
under consular jurisdiction they
were not ill treated except for
the lack of food. They returned
home aboard the USS Sanc
tuary in October of last year
and have since been recuperat
ing In Tucson, Aril, at th
home of Mrs. Howes' brother,
Judge Fred W. Flckett.
Rev. Howea will apeak Sun
day morning at the worship
hour and Mrs. Howes will be
heard Sunday evoning. The
