tlial this would be too great a

against government monopoly."
A. M. Thomas, secretary of
the Enterprise Irrigation dis

saying that he believed it did
protect the irrigation rights of
Klamath farmers and that if the
three men were located in the
Columbia valley region there
would be lem of the remote po

now obtains under the reclama

Teachers Quit
PORTLAND. June 13 IPi
Rcalgnations of 90 Portland dis
trict school teachers were ac
cepted last night by the board
of education, the largest num
ber leaving the system at any
one time.
Dr. Wtllard B. Spalding, su.
perlntendent, said 14 were re
tiring, but that uncertainty of
the school's fiscal budget had
undoubtedly led many of the
instructors to seek employment
elsewhere.
The city schools expect a bud
get deficit of 1,500,000 which
would force curtailment of
many special studies and the
athletic program unless con
gress approves extension of Lan
ham act fundi.
The board accepted an ath

by the High School Dads' club
calling for increased admission
prices and changes in organiza
