ASTORIA, June 12 M') The
excellent Oregon record of employer-worker
relations during
" the war was praised by Gov-V-rnor
Earl Snell in an address
io the Oregon Federation of
Labor convention here.

J work of the state accident and
J unemployment commissions in
his address yesterday and de
' elared the cooperation of union
J leadership made it possible for
the state to improve services
i during the war years despite ac
celerated industrial activity.

J building program soon,
He said the institutions, with
8000 inmates and patients, are
! overcrowded.
Resolutions adopted yesterday
urged amendment of the state
unemployment com pensauon
, law to authorize maximum 325
weekly benefits for 26 weeks in
one year and for benefits to
J begin immediately instead of a
week after loss of employment.

J was complimented in the annual
I report of Federation Executive
Secretary J. T. Marr who said
! the senator's work indicated his
"understanding of the issues in-
volved in labor disputes."
J The convention also approved
resolutions endorsing the state
- school support fund of $50 for
each child and urged legislation
requiring employers to accept
the workmen's compensation act
when a majority of employes
request its protection.
Ambulance Crew
Delivers Baby
' ALBANY, June 12 An
ambulance attendant delivered
Mrs. R. M. Bishop of an eight
pound three-ounce son here last
night while the driver called
out suggestions as he continued
the trip to the hospital.
Dave McKee, the attendant,
and Billy Morgan, the driver,
said they had read of other
ambulance men being in a sim
ilar predicament and admitted
a little casual reading on the
subject.
